I forgot to tell you... I saw John Lloyd last Wednesday while I was with my boyfriend! I'd be lying if I told you I did not find him cute and that I was giddy hehe...
Yesterday, I went to Las Pinas to hear mass with my boyfriend and his sisters. After which we went to their house to have lunch. I got to talk to my boyfriend's mom over the phone because she greeted me a happy birthday. She is soh nice! After talking to her, my boyfriend and I headed to Southmall to exchange his gift for the Aviators that we found the night before. It took us long before we decided on a pair because the exact same color of the one I tried was unavailable. I love the pair that we got!!! It's so glamorous!!! It's almost not like me! I love it even more when I pair it with my two-piece!!!
Yes you read that right.
I am planning to wear a two piece number at our outing this Saturday! I only got the top, I am yet to decide which bottom to buy. I don't know if I should get the Speedo partner of my two-piece or if I should buy another one. Anyway, that is yet to be decided. I also bought a pair of board shorts... I can't wait for the outing... I should not eat the entire week!!! hehe... I just had taho for merienda and we're going to Dampa tonight... so much for losing weight!!!
I rode with his family as we went back to Manila. They were going to a wake of my boyfriend's aunt. His dad offered the passenger's seat in front but I digressed because it would not be right but I was glad he did. :) I like his sisters too, they're very nice. They greeted me happy birthday and we are able to have conversations already. There are times when I am still a bit aloof but they're really nice.
Lately, I am ashamed of how I am. I tend to throw tantrums. There are times when I get unreasonably sensitive about things and my baby suffers from it. I'm sorry baby if I am difficult at times. I love you. I just don't know why I'm difficult at times. I'll make it up to you one of these days. Thanks for bearing with me. Thank you for the love. I am indeed blessed to have someone like you who would listen even when I want to talk no more, who can hear even when I do not talk.

Birthday Blog
I had my 26th birthday last Saturday! An alumnus of CCS sent me a message via Friendster, greeting me Happy Birthday and that though I am already 24 I do not look it. Okay, that sounded like a Pond's commercial but it did happen. I am saving that message in my inbox forever.
I hosted the event but before I did, my special someone called me first. He woke up really early that morning (which is very unlike him) to greet me a very, happy birthday. And it was. I finished my hosting job. After which I waited for my beloved brother to come home from the airport. I was glad to see him again. I missed him! He looks so cute right now, his skin loves Hong Kong!
He gave me an adorably, cute gift. Kind of reminds me of him because it has a really round face and a big smile. It's a solar powered Odoru! It moves sideways whenever there is light! We already played with it in the faculty room. He knew exactly what I would have wanted. Had I seen this in a store, I would have really asked him to buy me this! He is my brother! It now sits on my desk, dancing from side to side on end.

Odoru
I had a dinner date with my boyfriend. I straightened my hair and he loved it, especially when it was curling at the ends already. Unfortunately, we forgot to take pictures. I know! I can't believe it either, we, of all people, forgot to take pictures! Well, we can always use our memories to relish what was last Saturday.
In the car, he gave me his birthday card. I love it when he gives me cards! After which he brought out a nicely wrapped gift, which I was not able to photograph... darn!!! He covered my eyes as I unwrapped it. After I opened the box, I touched what was inside and already, I knew what it was... A pair of Ray-Ban aviator shades!!! I have been wanting a pair for umm... quite some time now! Thanks baby!!!
We saw Casanova and it was great! It's not sappy at all! It had a Shakespeare flavor. No! They did not use old English but the plot had a touch of Shakespeare.
After the movie, we walked to Outback only to find out that Outback was closed so we decided on Bubba Gump's instead. Which was still a good choice. The birthday song was embarassing. It was the first time a group of people sang to my face. As in to my face because they made me stand in front of them!
Before the movie, we had time to go window shopping too! He made me try out more Ray-Ban shades. I tried another pair of Aviators and he said it looked better on me and I could see they did. We both decided that we were going to have it exchanged the next day.
I love looking around with him!!! He seems to never get bored and he shows interest in the things I appreciate and like. He's a boyfriend and a shopping partner and soh many other thing rolled into one.

Bitch In Business
Last Wednesday, my class finished at 4:40pm. I was exhausted but I had a meeting in Makati so without reapplying my lipstick, or even checking myself in the mirror I waited for a cab. The first empty cab stopped before me but refused to lend me his service because there was a Women's Day Rally at Ayala. The next cab driver was nice enough to drive me to Ayala. With the instructions given to me by my boyfriend, I found the Corporate Center with no hassle.
I was on time. I met the woman who sent me an email expressing her interest to hire students. It is our requirement for companies to fill up Project Details forms to make sure students are deployed to companies that will allow them to work. They could not fill up the form, I was informed by the woman who emailed me and so I decided to talk to them. They asked me to go to their office to discuss. So inspite my exhausting day, I went there and for what?
I was led to an office that seemed to be their conference room. Their office was a quarter of a floor. Maybe it was an eigth of the floor. The woman then tells me that they want to take students but they do not have external projects. I could not digest it at first... She wanted me to go all the way to Makati while a rally is going on to tell me this? She could not just send me an e-mail? Then she called for her team lead who I think, to date is a bitch personified. If your company does not have external projects, do not get trainees. If your company does not have clients do not cover it up by pretending that you do by putting other people down. I was disgusted. At that moment, I was relieved I am in the academe and that I do not have to deal with sleazy people like her.
I was fuming as I walked to PBCom where my boyfriend worked. It was quite a treat to see him. We had dinner at Fish & Co. again, the place is easily becoming our favorite. Though Bubba Gump's still holds a dear place in my stomach :), their Fish and Chips is really good. It was just a treat being with my beau. The best part of the night? When we were stuck in traffic going to Greenbelt (my fault) I got go hug him tight. We also got to laugh a lot and it was just nice having fun with him even when there was traffic!

Trust His Heart
Panic is never good.
The sudden realization that you are so far out into the open sea where the ocean floor is fathoms away can cause rapid palpitations. You gasp for air but the giant waves will unceasingly crash into your already sunburnt face and With little sips of the salty water you can feel your body dehydrate. Frantically, you swim away from you do not know where to swim to another spot that is remotely known to you. You let every muscle in your body exert all the effort that you have, propelling you to move. It does not matter that you are really just going to where the waves take you, you swim nonetheless with all your might, tiring yourself unnecessarily, exhausting yourself until you are on the verge of muscle fatigue and cramps.
Panic is never good.
Doubt causes panic and so it is not good either.
Today, I will take things slowly. I will let the waves of His great plan take me to where I should go. My incessant strokes are just exhausting me when in fact His waves are far stronger than my strokes and His waves will take me far faster than I ever could take myself to the destination unknown to me. I should stop going against the strong current because there simply is no point. He will take care of me and so once again, I will be swept away with the hope of being washed onto the shores of the oasis of His love.

When Storms Set In
Dark clouds set in earlier that day, threatening all those beneath it. The cool breeze that was there a few months ago has disappeared. Instead it was replaced by the dry, humid air. Breathing was difficult and movement was not easy.
A ray peeked behind the gloomy cloud but only for a moment in which seemed like eternity. Hope shone through inspite its brevity and for the desperate, hope is all it takes to endure all pain, to ignore the harshness of reality.
Alas, time has raced the sun to finish and now the night is near. Still the faithful waited with much excitement but no warmth touched a surface. Instead, what came after shattered all hopes, a violent tempest was in the horizon. The winds howled, lightning stabbed the dark sky and thunder growled hungrily, devouring whatever hope that was left in the hearts of those who wait. The sun was gone and perhaps for good reason but reason is not for those devastated. Devastation does not yield easily, it stays inspite consolation, inspite explanation.
Once the violent storm calms and the gloomy sky brightens, it paints a rainbow across the sky. Again, hope begins anew and the warmth of the sun caresses all wounds. After all wounds are healed, after a glance on the rainbow above, those beneath are reminded of the many months of blossoms, flowing water and chirping birds and how all these are worth more than the pain of one cold, stormy night.
Though the sun may at times, not warm my face when I most anticipate it, I still look up and hope with all my heart that it will, every single day of my life, because I have faith in those times the sun shone on my face when I most needed it to.

Fishing
Yesterday was very exhausting. Of course, it's a Friday, you might say but no, yesterday was extra exhausting. During my breaks, I had to dub the presentation for the preconfirmation, sign endless letters of introduction as the practicum coordinator, deliver donations at LSPO as the Pagkamulat coordinator, mimeo and collate exams as a WEBDEVE teacher, conduct consultations... believe me during my PhD class I was just pooped. My brain could not absorb a thing.
After class, I had to prepare the grading sheets to be used for the INTROSE defenses. During this activity, I was coerced to go to dinner with faculty members. I did not want ot at first, thinking of the many tasks that were ahead of me... I still have to prepare a presentation for the S&T Congress, check documents and test papers, then there's still the U.N. brochure that I have not done yet because I have to come up with a mission-vision. Just to sidetrack a bit, I cannot believe how CCS-Pagkamulat has existed for so long without a documented mission-vision. I hope I will be able to come up with a good one. Anyway, going back... I agreed to go because they said they were eating at Fish and Co. and for so long I have been wanting to eat there but somehow my boyfriend and I keep on passing up the chance because he always forget to bring his Gold Card.
We had Seafood Platter Two, The Best Fish and Chips in Town, Peri Peri Shrimps and some Calamares and Seafood Rice. The Seafood Rice is good. Not astounding but good. The Seafood Platter Two had fish that seemed to be not so fresh, the rest of the shrimps were yummmy though. I loved the grilled squid but I just didn't think it was worth what we paid for. The Calamares tasted good too but it was nothing extraordinary. If you ask me the Dampa Calamares are as good. Peri Peri Shrimps is another well recommended item. Yummy shrimps with melted cheese! The price is okay compared to Conti's. The Best Fish and Chips in Town lives up to its name and I definitely recommend this to everyone.
Anyway, by the time the Calamares arrived, I checked my phone if my boyfriend has texted me already, to discover that he called me so I called him. My phone, with perfect timing, warned me that I had low battery already. Fortunately, we were still able to talk and after much convincing he agreed to drop by. I think we ate really quickly (because we were all famished from waiting in line, we were the ninth in line to get a table when we got there) or my beau took a long time to get there. Maybe both.
I missed hanging out with them. I have not eaten with them for a long time. Then again, I rarely eat out with them really because I have so much to do most of the time. It's fun to eat out with them every once in a while.
My boyfriend got to the resto when we were almost done, with every dish all wiped out already save for a shrimp that I asked my beau to try. I felt bad because he got there a bit late already. He seemed sad. It just dawned on me, as in a few seconds from now that maybe I should have set aside a plate for him. Then again, last night, I was not even sure if he was going to change his mind or if he will really show up because he seemed hesitant over the phone. I was soh guilty. At the same time, it was weird seeing my boyfriend just quiet and distant. It was like he was regretting ever going there. We got to use his gold card, he finally remembered to bring it. We got 20% off... big enough don't you think?
After I walked my friends out the resto and bid our goodbyes my beau and I walked back into the resto so he can eat. He had the Best Fish and Chips in Town and he liked it.
Sometimes I feel like there's a trench between us that we cannot fill. I feel like he wants to tell me something but can't and I am just not good at guessing. I wish I were wrong but sometimes I just could not help but worry. I don't know if I'm just reading too much for fear of neglecting to read in between the lines.

Emancipation
After my melancholic episode, I am now very giddy and excited. Perhaps I am because of the double dose of Hershey's Kisses or maybe it's because I am in love again! All of a sudden, my world is in color again. Unlike in the past few days where my days were gray, this time everything is vibrant as before. I can appreciate music and I can think again! I can finally focus on things that matter once more. I am in love again with life, with my work, with having fun and most of all with this once in a lifetime love that I have. Thanks for giving me reasons to fall in love with you over and over again. Whoever said you need to fall out to fall in?
I love you.
I love you.

Ranting...
The shadow of melancholia has engulfed me. I try to evade it but to no avail. It seems that whenever I see the light, I become to frantic and almost as soon as I realize my efforts to elude has succeeded, I find myself back to where I started.
I do not know where this is all rooting from. In a society that shuns psychiatric aid, I am not among those who seek help. Could it be that I am unhappy with my work? Do I not find the sense of fulfillment anymore? How can I not when there is just so much to do? I am stressed beyond words but then again, I have to ask myself... Have I done enough to feel stress even? Once again, the mere thought of doing exhausts me and so I end up doing nothing.
I guess I don't need to pay a shrink after all.
The way I feel could also be rooting from not being able to spend time the way I want to. It seems that I have not been able to do what I want when I want to. I feel always obliged to do something for someone. The number one rule to not to get stressed is the rule I can never do. Say NO. It breaks my heart to see other people's heart break. It breaks my heart not to be able to do everything. Now I am beginning to see, that not breaking my heart is breaking me.
Could it be that I am sabotaging my happiness? I mean I can be happy right now but I am choosing not to be for some odd reason. Why am I not happy? I mean, why do I have the urge to just sulk?
I better get to work. Perhaps my lack of productivity is getting me all depressed. Not being able to swim today because of the Accenture talk is making me doubly sad. Wish I could swim but I can't.

The Notebook
I don't know what is up with me.
I think I am still mourning over the loss of my Samsung notebook (not a computer, just a trusty made-of-paper notebook). I love that notebook. That notebook made made me productive. Never mind that it was unreasonably thick that I cannot put it in my unreasonably small bag. The latter is probably one of the reasons why I lost it in the first place. That notebook made my tasks fun like it had good chi or something. I have acquired a new, smaller, more colorful notebook but it's not just the same. The notebook I am using now is something I got as a birthday gift from a friend and I have been saving it for something special. Still, it can't replace my beloved Samsung notebook. I am still hoping that one of these days I will still find it. I need it. I have not been productive since the day I have lost it. Wah! Give me back my notebook!

On the Verge
Of Dementia
I have been in recess for the longest time mainly because I have so much to do. Lately, I feel like I am suffering from a slight case of dementia due to too much stress. Juggling all my tasks has proven to be difficult.
Of Recognition
Things though are starting to look up. I mean, Pagkamulat, the organization I am a coordinator of is going to partner with the United Nations so that they can support our Computer Literacy Program. This is good news because after seven years, the program will be recognized finally.
Of Heart Break
The practicum coordinatorship has kept my hands full but so far it has done nothing but break my heart.
Of Neglection
I have been neglecting my PhD research for the tasks that I have to do. The UN-CLiP partnership has really kept me very busy. It's good that I have another week to prepare for my next report. Though I know I should read more papers with or without an upcoming presentation, I cannot because I have so much work to do.
Of Stress
As an LSCS adviser, I have an upcoming seminar that I need to conduct. Sometimes, I feel like I am too approachable to a fault. I mean, students come up to me for an activity to be signed anywhere, at any time. I hate to admit it but sometimes, even that stresses me out.
Of Exhaustion
I have a bunch of test papers to check, I also have an exam to write, a presentation and a brochure to prepare for the Emerging Technology Congress 20/20, a presentation for the S&T Congress and a bunch more. It is extremely difficult for me. I have a bunch of projects to check too... So you do the math. I am exhausted.
Of Losing Touch
I don't get to hear mass everyday anymore... Sometimes I have meetings to attend to and other things that I need to do. My lack of connection with the Lord is taking its toll too. It has also been ages since I have attended a prayer meeting... I need that right now but my car isn't at the condo so I can't. I hope I can attend one soon.
Of Sisterhood Bonding
It's great though that my relationship with my sister is quite a breeze. We get to spend a lot of quality moments together. She's fun to be with and I think she becomes better company as she gets older.
Of Dealing
My boyfriend continues to put a smile on my face. Lately though, we have not seen each other much, thanks to our busy schedule. There are times when I cannot even text him right away. It sucks but I have to deal.
Of Catching Up
Basically this is my current state... As to my previous happenings well here are the highlights.
Last, last Sunday (yes, it has been that long since I last blogged) I went to his house in Las Pinas to hear mass and videoke with him and his sisters.
Last Monday, I went to RCBC plaza to meet with people from UN. I did some shopping after. I finally got to buy a 3,000 Php pair of shoes for 1,000 Php. I have been wanting the cute pair of shoes but somehow cannot convince myself that its cuteness is worth 3K... Imagine what a treat it was when I got it for 1K! We are soh meant to be! I also got a pair of leather shoes Manolo style that I love too! They have easily become my fave black shoes. At this point, it is not very difficult to achieve that status because I have worn out all my black shoes. There are a couple of pairs that I never like to wear so there you have it. Did you know that the shoe shop I Am at Greenbelt 3 offers a 1 year warranty for their shoes?
Last Tuesday and Thursday I just had to do lots and lots and lots of work! Save for the three hour videoke session with my co-faculty members. ;)
Of Revolution
Last Friday, no classes was declared by CHED because of Feb. 24. I was fuming when GMA announced the national state of emergency. Then, rallyists were ordered not to rally anymore because they are revoking all permits. Randy David and other two men were arrested. The rallies became violent, it was scary. People got hosed down. These could have been avoided if GMA had the slightest delicadeza. Unfortunately, delicadeza does not come easy these days, especially on politicians. I hate her.
Of Aging
Last Saturday was my little err... youngest sister's birthday. She's a grown up now. I have to keep on reminding myself. We spent the day at the mall. We saw the movie Closer to You and it got us all giddy. I really enjoyed watching the film! I think Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd both performed very well.
Of Wondering
My day with my baby! We went to Greenhills Shoppesville to visit the dentist. If you are ever at Dental City look for Dr. Cabading. She'll take care of you! *plugging* After which, my baby took some pictures for his assignment in his photography workshop. We also had my fave Strawberry Ice and he had Choco Banana Ice which in my opinion did not look very tempting. He took pictures of me eating, of me wearing my bumble bee shades... I was just glad hanging out with him. I love him so much. Sometimes I'm afraid of the possibility that I might love him more than he loves me. I just love him too much it's scary. I know he loves me. There was never a time that I have doubted that. I just don't know who loves who more. I guess I am mortified because for the first time in my life I love somebody so much.
Of Rallying
That night also, a conflict ensued at Fort Bonifacio because an officer named Miranda has been rumored to be relieved from his duty. From what I heard from the radio, an officer named Mayuga says that Miranda chose to relieve himself. I doubt it though. I really believe that he was forced to give up his post. It makes my blood boil how Arroyo is treating the people of the Philippines. Yes. I am seriously contemplating joining a rally soon. Just to appease the inner voice inside me.
Of Panic
My mom asked me to withdraw some money because the machines might start running out of money. I think that happened during the EDSA revolution. My mom was in the verge of panic. I think I was also. My beau was making fun of me for panicking but can I be blamed? I brought the money back home and then we went on to continue our date.
Of Missing
I love being with him. I have missed his laughter, his smile, his gaze. I missed just leaning on his strong shoulders, or linking our arms. I miss having my hands in his. I have missed hugging him tight and being hugged back. I missed him so much. After all, I have not been with him for six days... It felt like six months though.
Kingdom Anime-lia
Last Saturday, I drove my sister to UST and became her "julalay" (as one of the organizers of the Tomasinotaku cosplay coined the companions of the cosplayers). I was an all around driver, yaya, P.A., as much as I hate to admit it... to put it simply, a julalay.
We were set out to bake in the sun as we waited for the cosplayers only to find out that the cosplayers were sent to a death march. Under the midnoon sun, they were asked to parade around UST, wearing their leatherette costumes and colorful wigs and heavy make-up portraying the anime characters they so loved as they marched. I admired their immense dedication. They did this without complaining. While our brains got fried both from the glaring sun and the host basking in the coerced attantion we give him.
The event was poorly organized. They did not know how to handle the big number of cosplayers and the participants as well. Some of the organizers from Hero TV were very rude to the cosplayers. The contests were poorly organized particularly the Fan Art contest.
The event started at 9am for us and ended at half past seven. The bands were not good enough for my sister and so we left.
I am very impressed with the founder of Tomasinotaku as he demonstrated leadership by example. He was very visible throughout the event and he also cleaned the area himself. I marveled at the structures that they have there. The comfort rooms wreaked but the gazebos and the comfortable and cozy surroundings made up for it.
I was very exhausted but I was happy that my sister had fun. In spite my immense exhaustion and lack of sleep, I agreed to meet up with my beau who was also very tired since he was coming from Calamba, Laguna. We had my already favorite... Ice Monster... I love their Strawberry Ice and hung out. We saw the band and took some pictures of random objects and faces.
We were also together the night before. We saw Brokeback Mountain... forgive me... but I did not find it interesting. Apparently I was not the only one... the couple in front of us were making out with a capital M... Maniacal... and a capital A... animalistic... I did not know people really did that in cinemas! They did not finish the film. I cannot say the same for the couple beside us who were lovingly stroking one another... oh I forgot to mention... they're both anatomically, males. 70% of the people who watched belonged to the third sex.
So there... My back is hurting really bad so I think I will end this first. I don't know what is up with my body... Am stressed... why? I will reveal in a few more blogs.

The Road Less Never Travelled
Growing up is inevitable. The only comfort that I find in doing so right now is that I do not have to do it alone. I have an amazing companion. It helps to know that I am not alone in the decisions that I face. Though in the end, the decisions are still mine to make, it helps to have someone right behind you, cheering you on. Trusting that someone will catch your fall is difficult but I think I have learned to do that.
Last Tuesday, I have decided to put on my hiking boots, packed my backpack and started hiking up a trail I am unaware of. I wanted to explore and find out if I can make it on my own. I wanted to know how freedom felt atop a mountain with no conveniences of modern civilization. I just, for once, want to experience it as others my age, are already beginning to. The climb won't be an easy one, the look of it, and the tales of the people who have been there are enough to scare me. Yet amidst the uncertainty of it all, I want to try. I would get scrapes, here and there, bruises even, a few slips, but I know in my heart, I will stand up.
As I was contemplating on the journey I was about to take. It was a load off my shoulders when somebody tapped my shoulder asking if a companion might be welcome. I was more than glad to have a hand I can hold on to when the path may seem too slippery, or the rocks may look so dangerously sharp or the climbs overly steep. Having someone along will make it more worthwhile, adding fun to an otherwise arduous exodus.
And so as we begin our first few steps into the unknown, I lift up to the Lord our unsure steps, that He may guide us to where we should go. May we not stray from the path He has so lovingly prepared for us. Bless this journey Lord, for this journey is for You. You can see more up there so it will help us if you can coach us every now and then. We'll be tuning in on you. I am praying fervently that we have everything we need to reach the mountain top. Whatever we may lack Lord, please provide for us as You always do.

Another Day in a Dream Called Life
My eyes were still swollen after having come from a bad spat with my mother when he texted me an instruction to peek in the peep hole. Seeing him was such a ray of light amidst my storm. He made me smile. He pulled me to the side after I stepped out of the unit. It was then that I saw the bouquet of flowers hidden. I let out a yelp because I was unexpecting the flowers. I just came out of a spat and right then just a hug would have done the trick.

Valentine's Bouquet

Indiscreet Valentine's Bears
I guess I was unable to show my appreciation much because he thought I did not like the bouquet that much. Truth be told, I loved them, they were a bunch of gerberas and roses and a couple of bears hugging each other tight. It was the cutest bouquet I have ever gotten. It was unfortunate that I failed to take a nice picture of them.
He wanted to give me the flowers when the clock struck twelve! Isn't he the sweetest? He hasn't had any dinner when he delivered the flowers.
The following day, my eyes were so swollen, my students thought I had a bad break up the night before. I was able to get through my only class... after which I had to head home to prepare my surprise for him.
The surprise never materialized though... Oh well... Maybe next time. I had to rush to the nearest mall to remedy the boo boo that I did. We met up at around thirty minutes past seven to go to their house and get his car. It was his color coding day and so we had to get his car first.
While in the bus, he brought out a gift wrapped in bond paper. He made me promise first not to laugh. It seemed like a CD so I was wondering why he was so worried that I might laugh. I opened the gift and true enough, it was a CD. It said...
Serenades From My Heart
You
Hero
Ordinary Song
Naaalala Ka
Wherever You Will Go
One in a Million You
Closer You and I
These are the songs that he sings to me at Videoke sessions. I was flattered. I proceeded to open the jewel case curious of the inlay card. Inside, there was a picture of the two of us from our 9th month celebration. I then diverted my attention to the CD. A line caught my eye, Sing Like a Pro!!!. I wondered... I thought that was unusual for a blank CD to say... and then I looked at the bigger label... Karaoke King! It took me a split second to get all giddy and excited! I could not wait to hear the CD! He is soh cute!!! I can't believe how creative he was. How many guys can come up with such an idea? How many guys can muster the courage to do this? And then I thought about how people would gather around the booth everytime somebody would sing... I cannot imagine what he subjected himself into. The risk he took so he can come up with such a thoughtful gift. This is definitely going to my iPod.
I got to listen to the CD when we were at his house. Every part of me wished that every word is indeed how he feels about me.
We proceeded to West Gate after we got his car. We saw his former boss at Amkor with his new team. I saw a grade school classmate with her parents, a yaya and a toddler. I wondered if that was her kid. My boyfriend thinks that was her kid. I was amazed at how she has a kid already. I wondered if I could have one of my own too and if I could manage to take good care of a child.
We got to eat a lot... Darn. I must shed some extra pounds. We were serenaded by a group after we ate. It was really nice. What makes it soh nice is that I was with my baby! After dinner we headed to Starbucks to hang out for a while. We talked about what we have observed about Valentine's Day and I told him about how much I loathed the day before.
I had a great time! Yesterday was the best Valentine's Day! Then again, everyday seems like Valentine's Day with my baby around.
Thanks love!
Ordinary Song
Just an ordinary song
To a special girl like you
From a simple guy
Who's so in love with you
I may not have much to show
No diamonds a glow
No limousines
To take you where you go
But if you ever find yourself
Tired of all the games you play
When all the world seems so unfair
You can count on me to stay
Just take sometime to lend an ear
To this ordinary song
Just an ordinary song
To a special girl like you
From a simple guy
Who's so in love with you
I don't even have the looks
To make you glance my way
The clothes I wear
May just seem so absurd
But deep inside of me is you
You give life to what I do
All those years may see you thru
Still I'll be waiting here for you
If you have time
Pls lend an ear to this ordinary song
Just an ordinary song
To a special girl like you
From a simple guy
Who's so in love with you..
One in a Million You
Love has played its games on me so long.
I started to believe I'd never find anyone,
that could try to convince me to give in.
Said you can't win.
But one day the sun came shining through.
The rain had stopped, and the skies were blue.
And oh, what a revelation to see...
someone was saying "I love you" to me.
One in a million, chance of a lifetime.
Life showed compassion,
and sent to me a stroke of luck called you...
a one in a million you.
I was a lonely man with empty arms to fill.
Until I found a piece of paradise to call my own.
And life is worth living again.
For, to love you, to me, is to live.
Wherever You Will Go
So lately, I've been wonderin
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone, you'll need love
To light the shadows on your face
If a great wave should fall
It would fall upon us all
And between the sand and stone
Could you make it on your own
[Chorus:]
If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
And maybe, I'll find out
The way to make it back someday
To watch you, to guide you
Through the darkest of your days
If a great wave should fall
It would fall upon us all
Well I hope there's someone out there
Who can bring me back to you
[Chorus]
Runaway with my heart
Runaway with my hope
Runaway with my love
I know now, just quite how
My life and love might still go on
In your heart and your mind
I'll stay with you for all of time
[Chorus]
If I could turn back time
I'll go wherever you will go
If I could make you mine
I'll go wherever you will go
You
You give me hope,
The strength, the will to keep on;
No one else can make me feel this way
And only you
Can bring out all the best I can do;
I believe you turn the tide
And make me feel real good inside.
You pushed me up
When I'm about to give up;
You're on my side when no one seems to listen
And if you go,
You know the tears can't help but show
You'll break this heart and tear it apart;
Then suddenly the madness starts
CHORUS:
It's your smile,
Your face, your lips that I miss,
Those sweet little eyes that stare at me
And make me say,
I'm with you through all the way.
'Cause it's you
Who fills the emptiness in me;
It changes ev'rything, you see,
When I know I've got you with me
You pushed me up
When I'm about to give up;
You're on my side when no one seems to listen
And if you go,
You know the tears can't help but show
You'll break this heart and tear it apart;
Then suddenly the madness starts
CHORUS:
It's your smile,
Your face, your lips that I miss,
Those sweet little eyes that stare at me
And make me say,
I'm with you through all the way.
'Cause it's you
Who fills the emptiness in me;
It changes ev'rything, you see,
When I know I've got you with me.
It's your smile,
Your face, your lips that I miss,
Those sweet little eyes that stare at me

I'm with you through all the way.

When I know I've got you with me.
Hero
(Whispered) Let me be your hero
Would you dance if I asked you to dance?
Would you run and never look back
Would you cry if you saw me crying
Would you save my soul tonight?
Would you tremble if I touched your lips?
Would you laugh oh please tell me these
Now would you die for the one you love?
Hold me in your arms tonight?
(Chorus)
I can be you hero baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
Would you swear that you'll always be mine?
Would you lie would you run away
Am I in to deep?
Have I lost my mind?
I don't care you're here tonight
Chorus
I just want to hold you (2x)
Am I in too deep?
Have I lost my mind?
Well I don't care you're here tonight
Chorus (2x)
You can take my breath my breath away
I can be your hero
Naaalala Ka
Kay sarap ng may minamahal
Ang daigdig ay may kulay at buhay
At kahit na may pagkukulang ka
Isang halik mo lang limot ko na
Kay sarap ng may minamahal
Asahan mong pag-ibig ko'y tunay
Ang nais ko'y laging kapiling ka
Alam mo bang tanging ligaya ka?
Sa tuwina'y naaalala ka
Sa pangarap laging kasama ka
Ikaw ang ala-ala sa 'king pag-iisa
Wala nang iibigin pang iba
Oh, naaalala ka
Sa pangarap laging kasama ka
Ikaw ang ala-ala sa 'king pag-iisa
Wala nang iibigin pang iba...
Closer You and I
Hey, there's a look in your eyes
Must be love at first sight
You were just part of a dream
Nothing more so it seemed
But my love couldn't wait much longer
Just can't forget the picture of your smile
'Coz everytime I close my eyes
You come alive
The closer I get to touching you
The closer I get to loving you
Give it a time
Just a little more time
We'll be together
Every little smile
That special smile
The twinkle in your eye
In a little while
Give it a time
Just a little more time
So we can get closer
You and I
Then could I love you more
So much stronger than before
Why does it seem like a dream
So much more so it seems
I guess I found my inspiration
With just one smile, you take my breath away
So hold me close
And say you'll stay with me now
The closer I get to touching you
The closer I get to loving you
Give it a time
Just a little more time
We'll be together
Every little smile
That special smile
The twinkle in your eye
In a little while
Give it a time
Just a little more time
So we can get closer
You and I

After dinner we headed to Starbucks to hang out for a while. We talked about what we have observed about Valentine's Day and I told him about how much I loathed the day before.
I had a great time! Yesterday was the best Valentine's Day! Then again, everyday seems like Valentine's Day with my baby around.
Thanks love!
Just an ordinary song
To a special girl like you
From a simple guy
Who's so in love with you
I may not have much to show
No diamonds a glow
No limousines
To take you where you go
But if you ever find yourself
Tired of all the games you play
When all the world seems so unfair
You can count on me to stay
Just take sometime to lend an ear
To this ordinary song
Just an ordinary song
To a special girl like you
From a simple guy
Who's so in love with you
I don't even have the looks
To make you glance my way
The clothes I wear
May just seem so absurd
But deep inside of me is you
You give life to what I do
All those years may see you thru
Still I'll be waiting here for you
If you have time
Pls lend an ear to this ordinary song
Just an ordinary song
To a special girl like you
From a simple guy
Who's so in love with you..
One in a Million You
Love has played its games on me so long.
I started to believe I'd never find anyone,
that could try to convince me to give in.
Said you can't win.
But one day the sun came shining through.
The rain had stopped, and the skies were blue.
And oh, what a revelation to see...
someone was saying "I love you" to me.
One in a million, chance of a lifetime.
Life showed compassion,
and sent to me a stroke of luck called you...
a one in a million you.
I was a lonely man with empty arms to fill.
Until I found a piece of paradise to call my own.
And life is worth living again.
For, to love you, to me, is to live.
Wherever You Will Go
So lately, I've been wonderin
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone, you'll need love
To light the shadows on your face
If a great wave should fall
It would fall upon us all
And between the sand and stone
Could you make it on your own
[Chorus:]
If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
And maybe, I'll find out
The way to make it back someday
To watch you, to guide you
Through the darkest of your days
If a great wave should fall
It would fall upon us all
Well I hope there's someone out there
Who can bring me back to you
[Chorus]
Runaway with my heart
Runaway with my hope
Runaway with my love
I know now, just quite how
My life and love might still go on
In your heart and your mind
I'll stay with you for all of time
[Chorus]
If I could turn back time
I'll go wherever you will go
If I could make you mine
I'll go wherever you will go
You
You give me hope,
The strength, the will to keep on;
No one else can make me feel this way
And only you
Can bring out all the best I can do;
I believe you turn the tide
And make me feel real good inside.
You pushed me up
When I'm about to give up;
You're on my side when no one seems to listen
And if you go,
You know the tears can't help but show
You'll break this heart and tear it apart;
Then suddenly the madness starts
CHORUS:
It's your smile,
Your face, your lips that I miss,
Those sweet little eyes that stare at me
And make me say,
I'm with you through all the way.
'Cause it's you
Who fills the emptiness in me;
It changes ev'rything, you see,
When I know I've got you with me
You pushed me up
When I'm about to give up;
You're on my side when no one seems to listen
And if you go,
You know the tears can't help but show
You'll break this heart and tear it apart;
Then suddenly the madness starts
CHORUS:
It's your smile,
Your face, your lips that I miss,
Those sweet little eyes that stare at me
And make me say,
I'm with you through all the way.
'Cause it's you
Who fills the emptiness in me;
It changes ev'rything, you see,
When I know I've got you with me.
It's your smile,
Your face, your lips that I miss,
Those sweet little eyes that stare at me
And make me say,
I'm with you through all the way.
'Cause it's you
Who fills the emptiness in me;
It changes ev'rything, you see,

Hero
(Whispered) Let me be your hero
Would you dance if I asked you to dance?
Would you run and never look back
Would you cry if you saw me crying
Would you save my soul tonight?
Would you tremble if I touched your lips?
Would you laugh oh please tell me these
Now would you die for the one you love?
Hold me in your arms tonight?
(Chorus)
I can be you hero baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
Would you swear that you'll always be mine?
Would you lie would you run away
Am I in to deep?
Have I lost my mind?
I don't care you're here tonight
Chorus
I just want to hold you (2x)
Am I in too deep?
Have I lost my mind?
Well I don't care you're here tonight
Chorus (2x)
You can take my breath my breath away
I can be your hero
Naaalala Ka
Kay sarap ng may minamahal
Ang daigdig ay may kulay at buhay
At kahit na may pagkukulang ka
Isang halik mo lang limot ko na
Kay sarap ng may minamahal
Asahan mong pag-ibig ko'y tunay
Ang nais ko'y laging kapiling ka
Alam mo bang tanging ligaya ka?
Sa tuwina'y naaalala ka
Sa pangarap laging kasama ka
Ikaw ang ala-ala sa 'king pag-iisa
Wala nang iibigin pang iba
Oh, naaalala ka
Sa pangarap laging kasama ka
Ikaw ang ala-ala sa 'king pag-iisa
Wala nang iibigin pang iba...
Closer You and I
Hey, there's a look in your eyes
Must be love at first sight
You were just part of a dream
Nothing more so it seemed
But my love couldn't wait much longer
Just can't forget the picture of your smile
'Coz everytime I close my eyes
You come alive
The closer I get to touching you
The closer I get to loving you
Give it a time
Just a little more time
We'll be together
Every little smile
That special smile
The twinkle in your eye
In a little while
Give it a time
Just a little more time
So we can get closer
You and I
Then could I love you more
So much stronger than before
Why does it seem like a dream
So much more so it seems
I guess I found my inspiration
With just one smile, you take my breath away
So hold me close
And say you'll stay with me now
The closer I get to touching you
The closer I get to loving you
Give it a time
Just a little more time
We'll be together
Every little smile
That special smile
The twinkle in your eye
In a little while
Give it a time
Just a little more time
So we can get closer
You and I

Who Moved My Cheese?
Who Moved My Cheese?
Have you read this book? You probably have read this already months ago, but I only got to read this yesterday. I can't say it's something new because I have been doing just what the book states. Not because I already knew of the story of the mice in the book but because of a text message that I got when I was so down.
When God asks you to put down something, it's because He wants you to pick up something greater.
If anything, the book explained to me why I love my boyfriend so much. He would not allow me to wimper or whine for too long. Sure he lets me complain but he also reminds me that I should get going and keep on working towards the goal I want to achieve. Though he understands how forlorn I already am, he refuses to accept that I am too tired to make it to the finish line.
Incidentally, perseverance and faith was also the topic of the homily yesterday. The gospel was about the mother who had a daughter with an uncleaned spirit. The mother persistently asked Jesus to heal her daughter and when the mother got home, her child was healed. The priest said in his homily, that we should never lose hope. There is always a reason for everything. In the meantime that things are not going as we want them to, we should still keep on trusting the Lord because he has a plan. We should always see the big picture.
Coincidence of coincidences, in my FORMDEV class, the students built a tower made of index cards. During the activity, they are not supposed to talk to each other. I enjoyed observing my group. It took them a long time before they got to building. In fact, almost all groups have already built something before they began. I have six people in my group. One of the members, the one whom I believed to be the most creative one came in late. I was a bit disappointed that he was going to miss the exercise. One of them immediately began to work while the other one started his own tower. The other two sat on the sidelines to watch the other two. After seeing that the other person is making progress, the other person started to get to work. When teh group noticed that the other two were making progress, they joined in. Though one of the members kept on sneezing and coughing (intentionally, making the tower collapse) the group did not mind. They just kept on building.
Finally, the tower was finished after one collapse after another. The final tower was strong, strong enough to carry a FORMDEV booklet. I even took a picture of it. The facilitators tried to fan it down but it remained standing and then the other person pretended to hit the tower with a bottle of One iced tea, failing to catch it with his hand, it landed on the tower, causing it to topple down.
The group after letting out a scream, started building again. I was amazed. They were the least bit frustrated. They just kept on building. They won the contest.
After which, they decided to hit it with a paper plane made of index cards. It did not fall right away, but two seconds after the plane hit the tower, it trembled and then collapsed. I caught it on video. I will upload it here, when I find the time.
Truly, lessons abound whenever we look hard enough to see them. All we need to do is to look more intently an to listen more attentively.

Lucky Nine
The morning I have been waiting for finally came. It was odd because when it did, I was so groggy... Nonetheless, I picked up my phone and rang my boyfriend. To no avail... He was still in dreamland. I gave in to my urge to sleep.
A couple of hours later, my phone rang. My boyfriend, said hello in his hoarse voice which I find really cute. I knew right then that I had to wake up. I had an exciting day ahead of me.
He was taking me skating that day. I have not skated in two years I think. I loved skating way before I fell in love with swimming so you can just imagine what a treat the day was. He got to our house at 11 in the morning I think, and we drove to The Shrine of Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life (I referred to this shrine as Shrine of the Child Jesus), at Macapagal in the hope of being able to hear mass there but to no avail. So we decided to go to the Sea Wall instead. Instantly, memories came flowing. I remember the "walk" vividly and when he first put his arm around me. I was frantic not knowing how to react. It was a joy to see how we are now with each other.
He brought his D70S and we had an instant pictorial then and there! It was fun! I got to take some shots too but I really need more practice, it takes me forever to focus. I want my own camera!!!
A ton of pictures and two really tanned faces later, we were on our way to Krua Thai of Blue Wave. I got us some Ice Monster desserts while he waited for our order at Krua Thai. I had Ice Strawberry and he had Ice Mango and they were both yummy. He brought along his D70S and took more pictures. I wanted to take pictures of our food and the restaurant but the manager did not allow us for fear of infringement. We had to respect that of course, it was just a shame that we couldn't take nice pictures.

Krua Thai
After that, we were on our way to CCP where we spent most of the day. We strolled first and had another round of picture taking by Manila Bay in front of Dencio's. After which, I finally was able to skate again. I was amazed when I saw the contents of the trunk. It had a mat, a picnic cloth and other things. He really planned for us to have a picnic, unfortunately, we had to settle for just having some snacks at the side as we took a break from riding the bike and skating. Picnics were no longer allowed.
Rolling my skates again was fun though I have forgotten how heavy it can be on my foot. Then again, maybe I secured my boot too tightly. I ended up with two small burns because my socks were too low. All my skin injuries on my legs are always brought about by skating. I forget pain when I'm having fun hence, the burns that I always tend to get. Save of course, the two instances when I fell on the ice and scraped both my knees, resulting to a burn also.
He rode the bike as I skated. I got to try the bike too, though I cannot fathom how he was able to maneuver that bike, I am roughly nine inches smaller than him and I was having trouble riding it becaue I felt the bike was too small. It's been quite a while too since I last rode a bike and I must say, I had fun riding it too. Hmm... Wonder when I can ride a horse again? :)
We heard mass at Macapagal afterwards and ensued another photo session, this time the subject was the church building.
The day was fun. It would have been fun regardless of what we did because I was with him. It is quite a joy to be next to him and to be able to look into his eyes and breathe the air he breathes. To feel his warmth and to hear his laughter is a joy beyond compare. I have found contentment in his arms.
Thank you baby for the nine months that we have shared and I thank you in advance for more months that we are yet to share still.
Each day we are together, we lay a foundation for our future. As I see how much we have done so far, I cannot help but raise up a prayer to the Lord for thanksgiving and continued guidance and blessings for without Him, I know our walls will come crumbling down and with Him, our walls can withstand the test of time. Though we are lucky, I feel luck has nothing to do with us finding each other. I honestly believe, you are my answered prayer.

Reunited
My brother has come home after two weeks in Hong Kong. It might have been two weeks but it seemed like two months! I missed him while he was gone and so I along with my mom and sister excitedly waited for him at the International Airport.
It was such a joy to be there waiting and expecting alongside most other people who are anticipating and waiting for their loved ones. It touched my heart every time a reunion occurred. The joy in their voices was unmistakable. The longing in their eyes said how they have counted every minute until they have in their arms, their loved ones once again.
I do not want to exaggerate, but I am glad he's back.
I missed his jokes, sarcasm and his presence.
It was weird not seeing a figure in front of the computer.

Big Apple
I just finished reading (yet again) a technical paper that I have already read last week. It's true what my professor said, read a technical paper for the first time to get an idea of what it is about. Read it the second time to understand what the algorithms are and the significance of the paper. Read it again and again until finally you understand what it means and you have dissected each part.
Surprisingly, I enjoyed reading the technical papers I was able to find. Could it be that I have always been in the research area where I should be? Am I really a fan of distributed computing? I do hope so because I have been dwelling on distributed computing too much. Now to be able to express myself in the most unambiguous way is another story. How can I limit myself into using indices, subscripts, qualifiers, sets? Oh well... push the envelope further, I must!
For now, let me just savor the little bite from the big apple of research. Now if you'll excuse me, I still have much chewing to do!

Providence
He will provide.
As is written in the Bible.
As we are always reminded.
As He has always made true in my life.
Thank you Lord for all the blessings You continue to shower upon me so generously. I know I cannot thank You enough but I am trying anyway. You always come to my rescue whenever I feel cornered and down in the dumps. You send me whatever it is that I need, sometimes, even before I realize it you already grant me my necessities and much more. Truly, you are the oasis of this life that can sometimes be a desert. You fill my cup with happiness and joy. You nourish me and You keep me growing. Keep me always in Your care for I know You will never forsake me.

Flats and Spikes
toot...toot...toot... So goes my ECG for a life...
Last night was one of my low points. I had a pile of INTROSE papers to check. It was taking me forever to check each paper because errors abound and I wanted papers this trimester that were good. Added to that, I submitted a paper to a conference and I was supposed to get the feedback yesterday afternoon but no feedback was in my inbox. I checked again at six in the evening and it was right then that I knew it was not going to come.
Who was I kidding?
I did not tell my boyfriend about it because I did not want to feel embarassed if it never got through but in my bout of immense disappointment, I told him about it.
I was glad I did.
He comforted me as always and tried his best to make me feel better in spite his own worries at work. He has a deadline today and left the office late last night. Thanks baby!
It also helped that there were supportive people in the faculty room telling me that things will be alright and that they were sure my paper got in and that the feedback just took a long time.
This morning, I emailed the organizers to check on the feedback as suggested by one of my colleagues. As I read my last email to them, I realized that I typed in my contact information incorrectly, they sent the confirmation to the wrong address!
A few minutes later, I got my acceptance letter! :D
I was soh thrilled! It was like I won an award or something! Now all I have to do is to write the actual paper because we were only asked to submit an abstract!
The first person I texted about the good news? My baby! I knew that he would share the same joy I was overflowing with!
It's nice to have someone whom I can share my sorrow and my joys with. Thank you for never ceasing to believe in me love!

Mon-date
Last night I got to see my boyfriend. We went to see Cheaper by the Dozen 2. It was nice seeing a movie with him again. I think the last movie that we saw together was Ako Legal Wife and that seems like agas ago!
The movie was fun! I guess I found it more fun because my boyfriend always jokes about having 12 kids! Goodness how do you manage 12 kids? We had dinner at Superbowl and got to see the entire DLSU basketball team there... BJ Manalo and company with their respective girlfriends!
There were a lot of sales again last night but we did not have enough time to go over the stores. Nonetheless, I had fun with my baby! He is soh cute! I like to just stare at him and just marvel at how blessed I am to have him. I especially like it when he gets my bag when it keeps on slipping down my shoulder. He knows exactly when to get it from me! I love it when he reaches for my hand so we can hold hands as we walk. I like having his arm around me. I find so much joy laughing with him. It seems only like yesterday when he first put his arm around me and my stomach tightened and my heart skipped a beat. My stomach still does the very same thing every time I think about that. Thankfully, I wasn't soh tired last night, that I was able to be an okay company, still not the best but I guess I was okay.
I love you baby!

Field Day at Manila
Last Sunday, though I was still exhausted from the day before of my activities not to mention the week before that was also crammed with things to do... I forced myself out of the bed and into the bathroom to take a bath. I promised my youngest sister a trip to Cariedo, Sta. Cruz, Quiapo, Binondo and Divisoria.
Just thinking about it made me weary already. It was a hot day. I was dreading going there but at the same time, I was also excited for my sister who was going there for the very first time. I said a silent prayer that the Lord may keep us safe in our adventure that afternoon.
We took a TAS Trans bus going to Sta. Cruz. First stop was... Cariedo!
Cariedo
My sister and I surveyed the shop for a pair of boots that she is going to use for a cosplay. A cosplay is short for a costume play that has been popularized by anime fanatics. Two men asked us to go to a shop where there are knee high combat boots. We almost got forced into buying overpriced boots, fortunately, we were able to run out and go to another store.
We had to evade the two men so after ordering for the pair of boots, we went to the other side of Cariedo. A side of Cariedo sells beads. My sister's eyes widened in excitement as she browsed through the shop of beads and accessories. Once again she bought neclaces for her cosplay.
We then headed for Quiapo.
Quiapo
We went through the underpass and went to a DVD haven as described by my sister. Immediately, she was able to find anime DVDs that she wanted to buy. She had the DVDsd tested but before she could pay for them, the door of the building was shut and there was panic everywhere. DVD cases were being thrown in big bags and being hurled upstairs for hiding. There was a raid!
We had no way out!
I have been there several times and although there has been no raid since that afternoon, I have always wondered what would happen if there was one. I was thinking of what could be done. There was nowhere we could escape to. We were trapped.
Thank goodness, there was no raid that took place, apparently, upon seeing that the building was closed, they did not force it open anymore.
Whew!
We then headed for the bridge. I can't recall the name of the bridge but underneath is a wealth of handicrafts for balikbayans.
My sister was looking for a Boken, a wooden sword used for martial arts but we did not find one. It was such an exhausting walk.
On our way to Quiapo, my sister asked if we could go back to the DVD bulding to buy season 2 of Desperate Housewives. I guess the raid did not scare her a bit! So another exodus, we pulled off.
We got to see a Karakol dance at the underpass too!
Binondo
After all the walk we did, we got hungry so we decided to eat at Wai Ying... Boy was it far! But well worth it. The food was great.
After eating we were pooped and so we headed home. We both did not want to go to Divisoria anymore because it was just too tiring.
It was quite a field trip for my sister as that day was also the Chinese New Year so we got to see a lot of people gays, kids, guys do the dragon dance!
Going back home, I was ready to fall asleep in the bus. I was really tired. Upon getting home, I discovered the A/C outside the house and so the people who cleaned it put it back in. I had to watch them put it back in. After which, my mom arrived and asked hte men to pull it out because she bought a new A/C. I had to watch the men again. A few minutes more and we had to hear mass already. After I got home, I was definitely tired!!!
I got to see my baby though before the day ended. Just for a bit because his tummy was not feeling okay. He apparently ate somethign at their outing that did not quite agree with him.
No wonder I am still tired!

Ane-tipolo Party
My boyfriend's cousin Ane who also happened to be my favorite just passed the board exam for dentistry so we were invited for a celebration at Antipolo. I was looking forward to the party but I got too tired at the party because early that morning, I had to be at the graduation (one of my teacherly duties). After the graduation I went to Makati for a haircut and to get a gift for the cousin. My boyfriend and I have not been able to find time to buy a gift. We have both been awfully busy. I crammed a PhD paper last week. It seems that lately I have to do so much in a day!
The haircut took so long because they had to iron my hair. I had to go to Marks and Spencer to buy the gift and the underwear that I had to wear that night for the Chinese New Year. I headed back to the condo to change and then headed to the ground floor but then I realized that I did not have the gift in hand, I went back up to get it. When I got to the ground floor they were already there! I was so embarrassed. I don't know for how long they had to wait.
Most of the time at the party, I was in a daze. It did not escape my boyfriend of course. My brain was not at its finest... Missing out some of the jokes of my beau. Luckily though, I think I was able to talk to his family members with ease. His mom was with us and it's always a joy to be with her because she's bubbly and cheerful. I remember the first party we went to at Antipolo, the van was so quiet and it was a bit awkward perhaps because his mom was not with us then. Of course, it could also have been because that was only the third time that I have been with them.
I got to see my beau's grandma again! She is the coolest grandma I know! Too bad we did not get to talk much. I like it when she hugs me when I lean to kiss her (that's how they bless in my boyfriend's family). She does it in the most sincere way and then she squeezes my hand after. I can't help but love her! It's like she's my real grandmother. I miss spending time with her.
I also got to see his aunt and uncle who are my favorite too! Too bad, I did not get to talk to them much. His uncle has cancer of the lungs and that Saturday night, I can see how it is taking its toll on his body. I feel bad, especially because he used to be so active and cheerful. I am still praying for him. I hope my boyfriend's aunt will continue to be strong. Their son is also very nice. I got to chat with him a bit that night as well.
The celebrant and her siblings are I think, my boyfriend's most sociable cousins. It's not surprising though, their father after all is a councilor in La Union! I got to see the eldest sibling dance and as my beau said, he is quite a dancer! Maybe he can teach me a move or two!
While eating and chatting with my boyfriend and occassionally with his sisters and cousins, I could not help but marvel at the striking resemblance of my boyfriend and his dad. I have never seen too much resemblance in father and son as I have seen in them. I could not help but remember the first time I saw his dad at his sister's party, I was literally in awe!
My boyfriend was as tired as I was that night and I have no idea if he enjoyed that night at all. I hope he did though. Though we were with one another that night, and sat across each other, it seemed as if we were apart. Going to Antipolo was different however, we were even texting one another and I was anticipating the moment when I could finally be beside him. While we were at the party though, it looked as though we were distant. I guess we were just both tired at that time since he was coming from a Tagaytay outing.
He confessed later, that he drove half asleep because he was too tired already.

Re-fuse
I attended a graduation last Saturday. I checked papers during graduation and I am still checking papers now... Need I say more? I am stressed beyond words will allow me to express. I think this trimester is taking its toll on me. It is soh difficult, this trimester is. With all the things that I need to do piling up. sigh.
I refuse to change my lifestyle.
I refust to succumb to stress.
There's a way to get through this. If there is something I learned from my Master's it's that everything will come to pass. If there's anything I have learned from my boyfriend, it's to never panic.
Breathe in and out.
A few more blogs and I'm going back to work.
No more excuses.

Seeing Through The Lens

Macro Shot Attempt

On our way back to Manila, I took out my boyfriend's D70S. I took some pictures back in the resort and my boyfriend complimented me on a picture i took of a string of pearls. That was all the encouragement I needed.

Amidst the Dark

Cruisin'

King of the Road

I took more than ten pictures from inside the car. My boyfriend tells me they turned out great. I haven't seen them though. I'm mighty excited to see them!!! I'll post the pictures here once I get some copies. Of course, only of those pics without people in them.
I love looking into the view finder. Things look so much better from that small window of the world. I can be selective and just frame those things I want to see. I can focus on the beauty of things and not the totality. I can take the good and not take the bad that comes along with the good. I can paint the world in a much rosy color.
I cannot begin to describe the joy of taking pictures... I guess this is the reason why every time my boyfriend takes pictures, an eternal smile is unconsciously pasted on his lips. I understood him earlier that day in one of the cavanas as I was taking pictures of jewelries peddled by the local vendors.
I now see photography through the same lens my boyfriend does. I am still an apprentice but I am under the wings of a master.
Funfanga!!!
I gave my new young friend a high five before he ran towards his dad's car. I closed the door of my boyfriend's and sighed as I looked around. Zambales is a paradise undiscovered by many. Somehow, a part of me is glad that there aren't so many resorts around that place, otherwise it would have ruined the beauty of hte island. I hope that when I get the chance to visit again, it will still be as alluring as it was that very day we left. Of course, nothing is ever constant but then, I can wish can't I?
Once again we were on the road back to Manila but before we head back, we were to have lunch at Pampanga! My boyfriend's boss' treat! Pampanga is his hometown! On our way there, we were desperately seeking for a radio station so we can find out what the latest is about Pacquiao's match with Morales!
Fortunately, we were able to tune in to RMN despite the scarcity of signal. I witnessed Pacquiao's first match with Morales on the radio live, in fact I even spoiled the results for my boyfriend because I thought the broadcast on TV was also live. While we hoped to hear the fight live, we found out that ABS-CBN is not allowing people to air the fight because they had exclusive rights to the show.
People, dismayed and disappointed, called in. RMN, enjoying the sympathy from the public encouraged people to call and send text messages. People who were differently abled (the politically correct term for the disabled, I found out from one of the callers) flooded in. I felt bad for them... Then of course there are the soldiers who could have heard the fight over the radio because they had no access to televisions. Another group is the oppressed who cannot afford to buy televisions and of course those who do not have electricity and can only provide for themselves, radios that can be operated on batteries.
It was very sad.
Save for one caller...
In a really gay voice:
"Hello, this is joey. I would like to make a comment on what a blind man said earlier. He stated earlier that he is blind and because of that he won't be able to watch the fight of Manny Pacquiao on TV but after saying so he swore that he will never again watch Channel 2. I think what he said is contradicting. I would also like to say that I think ABS has every right to keep others from airing the fight because that is their intellectual property right... "
Okay by this time I was just laughing real hard! Along with the other people in the car... Intellectual huwaaat?
We found out through the lousy coverage of DZMM (the radio station of ABS-CBN) that Pacquiao won. Thank goodness it was Castillejo who got to report about the tenth round! I can't believe they had Christy Fermin report about the other rounds! The least that they could have done was to get a sportscaster to cover the event! I know, they were just hitting two birds with one stone given that Fermin is from The Buzz, thw showbiz show of ABS. But come on! That was an important fight and they already banned people a thousand times better than Fermin to cover the event. To give you an idea how she did...
"Okay we have just finished round 5, we are now into round 6. I think round 5, was our round. As you can see..."
No we can't you're on radio remember...
We got to Pampanga finally. By that time Pacquiao has already won but on ABS it was just round 2. What given that a commercial break spans two rounds and there's a commercial break every round there was no way the fight was going to finish soon. We stayed glued on TV nonetheless, cheering for our hero.
Thanks to the victory of Manny, the good food and good company, Pampanga did turn out to be Funfanga!!! :)

A Tale of Zambales
I woke up at 7am to pack my stuff. I was bursting at the seams with excitement! I was going to Pampanga with my baby and his former officemates! Yahoo!
Of course before I do, I had to endure my hell Friday but when you are doing one task after another, time flies without much ado.
Before I knew it, it was time to leave the condo to go to my boyfriend's house. He still had to pack. I begin to psyche myself for the long wait as we drove to their place. He takes forever to get ready for an outing but I don't mind 'coz most of the time I am soh excited and spend most of the time thinking of the trip ahead.
So You Think You Can Dance, a Friends episode and half an Elvis movie later, we were on our way to Amkor to meet up with his officemates.
His officemates were very warm toward me! I never feel out of place around them. Maybe it's coz my boyfriend has always been nice to them. A few minutes later we were on our way to a bank because my boyfriend was going to withdraw some money.
My beau pulled over in front of the machine and left us to talk inside the car. We had a couple ride with us and they were very sweet. They look cute together! Another former female officemate rode with us. I find her pretty and she's so nice too! A few minutes later, my boyfriend, a bit upset informed us that the machine hung and that it did not dispense the money it should. We had to call up the call center adn few minutes more, we were on our way to Pampanga.
We are yet to find out after two working days if they will refund the money that did not come out of the ATM machine.
A few hours and 60 minutes of sleep later, we found our way to Zambales! I did not know we were going to Zambales! I thought we were going to stay at Pmapanga! No matter, I just want to go to the beach! I could not wait to get into my swimsuit and swim in the sea! I love swimming!!!
I loved the place. The beach was clear and there were not so many boats that abound the shore. It was just perfect! Well... it was save for the resort caretaker who was such a pill charging us for almost everything!
We got to the place half past five in the morning and so we got to rest for a while. Two of his female officemates and myself got restless and so we swam in the pool. They found the water cold, I of course did not think it was cold because I'm used to swimming in the icy cold water of the pool at the sports complex. We moved to the beach a few strokes later.
The water in the beach was great! It got better when I saw that my baby was there! He looks so cute taking pictures of things around him!
After breakfast and after the Lunch crew prepared the food to be grilled at Capones Island, Zambales, we were good to go. We rode in four boats. My baby took pictures again, it was a good thing he brought along his D70S. The island was nice. It had sedimentary walls (I am autovocabulizing again, I don't know what to call them), the sand was white but not so pure but the place was not a great place to swim in. The water there was too shallow and were inhabited by corals that sadly, are now dead. I got really far from the shore but I never quite got to a place where there were nice corals.
We had lunch under the shade of the sedimentary rock. They grilled tilapias and liempos and we even had mangoes for dessert! His officemates are amazing! They can conjure up the best tasting meals even when in an outing! The team forgot to bring glasses though so we all had to come up with ways to drink! Some people got cellophanes and filled them with water, tied one end and bit open the other end and drank. Some sliced softdrink bottles in two, while some asked for glasses from other people who were also at the island.
After lunch and a whole lot of pictures taken by my baby, we were on our way to the Camera Island. By this time, I already looked like a Lyna mascot with all the sunblock I put on my face and my body (Thanks baby for putting on me sunblock lotion!) I wonder if this is how geishas come to be hehe :))
Camera Island is my favorite island because I can swim there. There were still corals there but it allowed more space to swim in. We also found a cave there and the sand bar where the waves meet was an amazing experience! It was like really being in a wave pool! Except you can hurt yourself because there were sharp rocks. The sand bar goes all the way to another island allowing you to cross. My boyfriend and I did not bother. We could not see why we should. :)
We saw a cave there too! Well, not exactly a cave but a place underneath two gigantic boulders. Really romantic! And there was also a jungle there but we never went there, it did not appeal to me much.
The island was very beautiful! We spent the rest of the afternoon lying on the sand, where my boyfriend caught a few winks. He never really slept until that time.
We had to go back to the island at around 3pm so the waves won't get too big.
Upon landing, I headed to the shower to rid myself of hte sand and jumped into the pool as I waited for all the others to finish taking baths. I took a bath and after which, my boyfriend and I decided to watch the sun set. I did not want sand to get in between my toes so I kiddingly asked him to give me a piggy back ride to the cottage and he did!!!
I felt like a girl from a romantic Korean film! He lied down on one of the cottage tables, his head on my lap and as we waited for the sun to set, he fell asleep. He asked me to wake him up when the sun was halfway down but well... yup you guessed that right, I lied down perpendicular to him, his head now on my tummy and we both fell asleep. It was already pitch black when I opened my eyes.
Dinner time!
We were in charge of dinner but the people who prepared dinner, were aslo the lunch crew who will also turn out to be the breakfast crew as well... I helped slice calamansi... does that count?
As they got dinner ready I got to have a long adn interesting conversation with the four year old son of one of my boyfriend's officemates. He is so cute and smart!
We had tuna, chicken adobo and some really hot salsa! Yumm!!! After dinner, my boyfriend and I found a nearby cottage and lied down on separate benches. He was given cans of Strong Ice. I was just so contented being in that cottage with him. We joined the bonfire a few minutes later. He took pictures of the bonfire and then we retreated to the cottages again to listen to music and keep each other warm. It felt nice to be with him in a cold night like that.
We fell asleep on the benches again and the coldness of the air woke me up. As we headed to the rooms, we saw that the bonfire people were having a discussion with a tanod. Apparently, a drunk man pieked a fight and they ignored him but he got more people... I only understood up to that point because I was too sleepy to understand the rest of the story.
The following morning, we were all set to go! We had breakfast, yummy bacon and tuna! My boyfriend took more pictures and I spent more time with the cute kid!
A few hours later, we were on our way to Pampanga... This time for real!
Of course before I do, I had to endure my hell Friday but when you are doing one task after another, time flies without much ado.

Hectic Friday
Friday is my hell day no doubt.
My Fridays begin at 920 in the morning with my INTROSE class. After which I proceed to my INTROSE project meeting til 1130. At 1130 to 1230 I go to my FORMDEV class. At 1250 to 230pm I conduct my HUCOINT class. After which, I get a one hour break for my errands and other things that I have to do on the side. An hour later, I walk to my last INTROSE class at 3:40pm. At 4:40pm I sprint to the sport complex to play badminton for an hour with friends. I get a thirty minute break and then PhD class begins at 6pm and ends at 8pm. I'm just lucky coz it should end at 9pm.
This was my toxic but fun Friday last week.
With the tight schedule that I had to follow, I could noy but myself 2 pairs of shorts. I fitted my shorts that Friday morning and the shorts were not as comfortable as I want them. I asked my baby if he can swing by the mall to get me some shorts. He willingly agreed to shop for me.
You might be wondering what I was thinking asking a guy to buy me shorts. I really trust my boyfriend to buy my clothes because he picks out nice stuff. I told him I'll pay him after. I thought he was just going to go to Lulu Castagnette and get two shorts from the shop. I was so surprised that he really went scouting, short hunting is more like it. He's been everywhere, Girbaud, Mango, but in the end we had to settle with Lulu coz I have not fit the shorts from Girbaud and Mango. The Lulu shorts on the other hand I have fitted already.
Thank baby for being ever so reliable and for bearing with the weird stares of the boyfriends at the waiting area of Mango as you browsed through the merchandise of the shop along with shopaholic women. Thanks for going out of your way to get me a pair of shorts. I love them! You have as always made an exhausting day a fun one!
I love you!

ABC Baby, You and Me
Whew!
I finally got the Computer Literacy Program material that will be used for this Saturday's tutorial out of my hair! I'm done with it! I think I did okay. The studsents still have a day to edit it if they want to add more things.
That's not the reason why I'm blogging.
I would just like to share the extreme contentment that I have right now with my relationship. If my brother were reading this, he would tell me that I am just saying this to convince myself but the thing is, I never really blogged with other people in mind. Sorry, but really, this is more like a way for me to exhale. Right now, I am contented.
What made me contemplate about this oh so suddenly...
I saw Rumors Has It. My mom bought a pirated copy. *sheepish grin* I know it's bad enough that I saw it on pirated DVD but the movie is bad enough for me to say that I do not regret watching it on pirated DVD. A line in the movie struck me though...
It doesn't matter what you do together, it's the person you are with that matters.
Every little thing he does is magic
Every little thing just turns me on
I love hearing that song because following that song is always the voice of my baby!
He called to let me know he is near our place already and if I am coming down to meet him. He was going to pick up his dad tonight and he decided to swing by my place first to see me. Isn't he the sweetest? I swam tonight and undeniably so because I still smelled of chlorine. My brother and my sister loathes the smell of it. Add to that the not-exactly-fragrant lotion from Lush , called Dream Cream. It's the only thing that works for my skin. I also use Nivea Firming Lotion with Q10 for my upper arms which smells awful too! I knew I smelled terrible already so I did not bother to cover it up with anything. Okay, I put on some Lip and Cheek from The Body Shop and some Ilog Maria lip balm for my lips. My lips get chapped from swimming too and that lip balm is the only thing that works for me too. I tied my hair into a pony tail and that was that. I was wearing my glasses that my boyfriend finds tacky but I did not feel like wearing my contacts anymore.
I finally got out of the unit and positioned myself beside the elevator preparing to jump in front of it when he comes out. The elevator stopped, I waited, my heartbeat racing, I saw a shadow... I almost leaped in front of him to surprise him... but to my embarassment it was not him. I was wearing my pajamas already! The guy must have thought I was a nutcase... Thank goodness I did not jump in front of him, funny faces and all!!! That would have been a floor-swallow-me-now-puhleez moment!!!
A few minutes later, the guy I was meaning to surprise finally arrived. I was going to surprise him but when he peeked out of the elevator door, I had to hold my breath. He just looked soh cute in his rowing shirt from the Green Mile Regatta, June 2001. He was also wearing a red and black Nike shorts and Nike slippers. He looked so cute! I especially liked the smile!
I greeted him with a hug. I could not let him in anymore 'coz mom was already asleep so we just talked on the stairs of our floor. And then I broke into a song... A you're adorable, B you're so kissable, C you're a cutie full of charm... and then we found ourselves singing the song and teasing one another...
Just like that. I have the time of my life sitting on the staircase singing an elementary song simply because I have with me the person who has made me realize that I can love more than I have ever known and that I can receive more love than I have ever believed I could.
I had a great time. Thank you for making simple joys happen.

Blowing Kisses and Covers
I was at Lulu Castagnette last Saturday with my boyfriend. I was just trying out some outfits because this boutique is my new addiction! I like their pants and with the low waist craze I am into right now, it has come in handy that I have found myself pants that fit like a glove. My boyfriend picked out a pair of low waist, faded pants and suggested that I try it on. I told him I was not going to buy anything because I have just bought three new pairs in a span of two months. I tried it on and I loved it! My boyfriend, while I was in the fitting room handed me a blue racer back shirt and asked me to try it with the pants. I liked it too. I loved it even more when he told me he was going to pay for them too. They're his gift to me! I was thrilled of course... I felt like Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman! He asked me to try a dozen more outfits but in the end the pants and the racer ack really cut it for me!
Thanks baby!
My mind was set to have dinner at Superbowl but when we found our way to Landmark, I had a vision of Bubba Gump's luscious Mahi Mahi fish in bourbon sauce with succulent shrimps, mashed potato and shoestring and I just had to suggest Bubba Gump. Undecided as we always are, we decided to settle matters in a very scientific way... Heads or Tails... Superbowl won and then we both frowned. So then we knew we both wanted to eat at Bubba Gump hehe!
During the hearty meal, my blog was brought up. I recently acquired a statcounter account that tells me how many visitors have visited my page. Apart from that, it also tells me how long a visitor stays, the IP address of the visitor, the entry point and so on and so forth. I coaxed my boyfriend, using the statcounter account to tell me if he has been reading my blog all this time or not. Ha! Lo and behold... He has! I don't know for how long! A part of me has been wondering for the longest time if he has been because there were moments when he would come up with lines that I have written in my blog! Well... well... well... looks like our covers have been blown!

Tagalog Movie Greats
Magnifico
This movie is definitely a tear jerker. I was crying already way before I should have because the story just tugs on the hearstring. It does not have fancy metaphors (unless I have missed those), it relies on the storyline and the cast. It's a story of a boy who changed the lives of people around him by being at service to others. The last time I cried so hard over a movie was when I saw Pay It Forward.
Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros
This movie is a light film that portrays the harsh realities of the slum areas in the Philippines. Yes, it does tackle some gay issues but mostly I got caught up by how it is so difficult to be black and white in varied aspects of our lives. There will always be a gray area. This indie film has been so artistically crafted and metaphors abound everywhere. My fave scene is that of an orchid floating on the murky waters of Ilog Pasig.
I wish they'd make more Tagalog movies that are really worth watching. We have always prided (yes, there is such a word) ourselves of being creative, imaginative and talented. I wonder if there will come a time when we will just take pride of what we are as a people and start supporting one another.

It's a Sea-lebration!
Last night I was at the birthday celebration of my boyfriend's father. We ate at Lola Inang's of Seaside. The food was great. I am such a seafood binger! I was hesitant to go with my boyfriend because I had a PhD class til 9pm though I was sure that it would not go until 9pm. At the most, the class will be until 8:30. Before my PhD class, I already texted him that I won't be coming. After my PhD class, I called him to check if he got my message, and then he informed me that his youngest sister and himself are still in Makati and that I should come along because his mom invited me.
Timid at first, I rode with them and found myself seated across his mom, having soh much fun! His family is so nice! I especially like his mom because she always has a lot of stories to tell. She was wearing the blouse that we gave her for Christmas that I picked out. It looked nice on her. I also got to see his uncle (one of my fave in his family) and then of course his aunt who is another absolute fave! I did not get to talk to them much though because tney were at the other end of the table.
Another bonus of the night was when his mom informed us that her biopsy results were okay. She had some health problems in the latter part of 2005. She has iodine deficiency and then a lump formed in her throat. The iodine supplement should take care of it so she had to undergo further tests. I am very glad she is alright.
Speaking of matters of the health, I had sharp lower back pains yesterday. I was getting my USB drive from my CPU so I had to bend over, and it hurt so much just to bend over. It hurt even more to get back to my posture. I was thinking if this has anything to do with my eating big blocks of tofu the night before at Wai Ying with my boyfriend. My back hurt again when I was on my way for my PhD class and I had to bend over to get my house keys. It was excruciating. If it strikes again, I will go see a doctor.
I was supposed to go to Gawad Kalinga today but because of the back pains, I do not think I will be much help so I chose not to go anymore. Plus, I discovered that all my rubber shoes, save for one that is new and is very white, are all smiling. The soles are sticking out already and so even if my back was fine, my shoes weren't. I guess I was never meant to go.
I think my back hurting again but the pain is not as sharp.
I hope it was just because of the tofu. I am such a soya addict. I should have my uric acid level checked.

Phemomenon
It's amazing how you can sometimes feel that your mom does not love you but in the end, you know deep in your heart, that no one will ever love you more than she does. It's uncanny that no matter how many timses we fight with our mothers, we will never love another woman as much as we love her.
It's a phenomenon.
My mom and my sister fight a lot and I am reminded of the many arguments that we also had when I was a teenager. Growing up, me and my mother never quite understood each other. We rarely see eye to eye. But as the years progressed, I have learned to accept that we are two different people and as such, we have different strokes. Over the years, I have learned to love her for how she is. Now, there are still times when we argue but I try to always remember that no matter what happens, she is my mother, and no one has ever given as much as she has.
I love you mommy!

Sunday Leisure
I got to attend a kiddie birthday party last Sunday at McDonald's LP with my boyfriend since he is one of the ninongs! His godchild is soh pretty! We got to wear Princess and Prince party hats! It was so much fun! The highlight of my party was when he bought me a drink from the counter. It was so sweet of him. He had to buy me a glass of iced tea because I do not drink softdrinks and they only served softdrinks in the party. I like it that he is sweet like that. He always looks after me when we are at a roadside or crossing the street and he always helps me carry things. I have been blessed with such a sweet boyfriend!
After the party, we went to my boyfriend's house to pick up his siblings and then we all headed to Southmall. His dad called while we were on the way and asked if we could swing by Gabby Barredo's place. If you can remember from one of my entries, he's the artist whose exhibit we went to. His house is so beautifully crafted. Every detail is a sight to behold. I wonder though, how he comes up with those things. The theme of his house is rather Gothic.
We strolled the mall a bit and then his older sister treated us to Jollibee and then we heard mass at Mary, Mother of the Church. We were a bit late. His sisters did not hear mass anymore as they have heard mass already that morning. I was a bit embarrassed that they had to wait in the car while we heard mass.
We found ourselves back at my boyfriend's home eating dinner with his dad. His dad was rather jolly that night. He was to go home to La Union but then decided against it since it will be his birthday this Thursday.

Added Value
Last Saturday,I got to study with my baby and I realized one thing. I am grateful that he was never a study partner until last Saturday. I would not have passed a single subject with him as a study buddy. Whenever we discuss something, he would look at me intently and I would just melt with my thoughts stopping on their tracks. I could not focus. I had to use every ounce of my energy to stick to the topic and schedule.
After studying, we had a hearty dinner and then asked ourselves where else we would like to hang out. Most of the time we are vagabonds with nowhere to go. We'd spend minutes asking each other where we can pass the time. He told me that the Euro Star Carnival is opening that night so we decided to head to the carnival. I was so excited but after I saw the place and found out that it was charging 150Php for the entrance and 400Php for a ride all you can. I was bewildered! Who are they kidding?! There were just a few rides and most of them are commmon rides like the carousel, ferris wheel, octopus etc.. There was a band inside but they were probably just going to play a few sets. We did not enter the carnival because we both thought it was a big rip off. We strolled around Fort Strip instead and then looked around again. They started the fireworks display and the view from where we were, I bet, was better than the view of the people inside the park! It was pretty romantic having my baby to wrap my arms around with as we both tilted our heads upward to watch in amazement the spectacles of color. I felt like a kid shrieking in delight!
The fireworks display is nothing like that of what I saw at Disney World and Disneyland heck, the Enchanted Kingdom fireworks display is even better but then again, those were not free and most of all, my head was not resting on the chest of the love of my life as I saw those shows. I think that makes all the difference. I guess it is true what they say, the best things in life are free.

Trying Trimester
Every trimester, seems to push me farther to my limits. Don't get me wrong, I kind of like it that every trimester, my life becomes more challenging, otherwise, I'd probably get bored to death.
This trimester I am the following:
So as you can see, this term is rather packed with action. Though my boyfriend says nothing is going to beat the trimester when I was doing my MS. I did not argue. Yeah, that term was hard.
Anyway, as early as last Friday, three days into the term, I was already feeling the harshness of reality. I, along with a student, am in the process of putting together a Computer Literacy Program for public school teachers and students. For that, I had to ask some teachers to develop manuals. I would be doing the MS Excel manual as well as the diagnostics and I have not begun yet. I also have a Mindoro Flood drive going for the victims of the typhoon at Calapan, Mindoro.
I was so tired last Friday with all the activities that I had to do and after my PhD class, I was just so glad that my boyfriend waited for me until my PhD class ended so we can have dinner together. He is so sweet.
In his arms is where I want to be after an exhausting day! He just melts all the anxiety away!
Thank you love!

8's a D8
I am quite el8d to realize that it has been 8 months since we became a couple!
We celebrated tonight by shopping for his slacks at Robinson's Place. Lately, we have been doing things like that. Processing his NBI clearance, shopping for long sleeves, shopping for his slacks are among the things we do together these days. I am not really complaining since it is but practical to do these things. I mean, I am taking so much of his free time and the only time he can find to do these things is when he is with me. I am glad to be with him doing these things anyway, at least I know I am supporting him all the way.
After shopping we went to Don Henrico's for dinner where we ordered Mozarella Sticks,
Chili Shrimp in Olive Oil Pasta and Buffalo Wings. The first two entrees were okay but the Buffalo Wings were not so good. They obviously rushed the cooking and one wing was raw. We complained about it and the waiter just cooked it again and returned the chicken to us! We were appalled! So we complained to the manager and the manager ordered another buffalo wing.
During the dinner I had to look at the Headstrong materials because most part of it was UML and object-oriented programming and out of enthusiasm I broke out into a lecture which I think my beau did not like. I was thinking maybe we can begin tonight since I cannot see that we have a lot of time in our hands anymore. I think that kind of dampened the mood. Darn.
With full stomachs we walked to Bay Walk to hang out and to listen to some of the bands there. We also hung out by the sea wall to watch the stars and to talk. We capped off our first date at that very place. That was where we got to know each other.
I still have work tomorrow so we decided to walk back to our parking.
Today there were no elaborate surprises. I can sense we are past the honeymoon stage as predicted by most faculty members. Of course I do not expect a full production every month. He is still sweet to me and he's still there for me when I need him and I think that is what matters. But then of course, being a girl, I would not mind a nice show to behold every now and then hehe... Maybe these past two months is his way of telling me that I should no longer expect much every month. He also had to spend a lot this month. Yesterday I attended a dinner he treated his workmates to and of course he had to shop for his pants and then there was the Christmas season, not to mention his regular Globe bill and gas expenses. With the prices of everything rocketing we should really start getting practical.
Yet a part of me wishes we never have to be so realistic hehe...
